Webstudent perceptions of a high-quality school climate offset the negative effects of a difficult temperament, self-criticism, and low levels of self-efficacy. Such findings indicate that although a perceived high-quality school climate is advantageous for all students, it may be particularly beneficial for students at-risk for negative outcomes. Webet al. 2009). While there are many components that comprise each school’s individual climate, this brief will primarily focus on issues related to the perception of inclusivity, the negative experiences that inhibit inclusivity and the disproportionate effects that not having an inclusive school climate can have on specific student groups.
