We convert 351 winsors by machining the top of the lifter bores flat and drilling the valley to take the stock retaining tray. But you have to be careful about cam choice because to much lift will push the lifters ...

WebMay 28, 2006 · A roller grind from a 5.0 is not the same as a roller from a 5.0 HO. First you have 351 not 302 inches, and second a good flat tappet will give you a lot more power. Depends on your heads, but I would use a flat tappet CompCams XE 256H or maybe one higher..... never above a 264, the power peak gets too high rpm.
